Jake, Robyn, Carter & Sydney — Utah. A simple place for family and friends to keep up with what's going on.
Robyn and I have been together for 20 years. We live up in Utah with our two kids, Carter and Sydney. Both of them are thriving, and honestly, that's the whole point of this page — a smart, safe place for family and friends to keep up with us without digging through group chats or social feeds.
What's here is the stuff we actually want people to know: who we are, what the kids are into, and what's coming up next. If it matters to our people, it's on this page. Everything else stays off it.
First day of fall, and we're actually going to do something about it. No screen night, no "we'll figure it out later" — we're getting out of the house and doing a real fall thing. Apple picking, a hike, a long dinner out, one of those. The plan is to lock it in the next couple of weeks so it doesn't slip. If you're around and want to tag along, that's the whole point — this is the easy one to say yes to.
Carter's gymnastics competition season runs January through May 2027 — about seven events. He's a level 9 at Momentum Gymnastics and has been building toward this all fall. We'll post results and highlights as they happen. His gymnastics account is the best place to catch the routines.
Sydney is doing her first solo this year with Project Move Dance Company. She's been working on it all season, and for a 6th grader, that's a real milestone. We'll know the exact performance date soon — will update this page the moment it's locked.
We're not doing ski passes this year. But we are getting out at least once, and we're actually looking forward to it. One good day on the mountain, no pressure, no season-long commitment. We'll pick a date when the snow report looks decent.
Our biggest celebration of the year. The longest night, and we mark it properly — candles, hot drinks, the kids' favorite food, and no phones for at least the first hour. It's the one night of the year where the whole family is actually in the same room doing the same thing, and it's the one we don't skip.
